StimulusBrand-SMUG brewery brand
StimulusBrand was recently selected to develop and help launch SMUG BREWING, a new craft brewery set to open early this fall in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Initial work began with logo identity, a marketing tagline which states: Artfully Crafted. Boldly Consumed. —— followed by their website design.
Smug Brewing Company will open this fall at the former location of Bucket Brewery at the intersection of Carver Street and Pawtucket Avenue. Together with partner Steve David, they purchased the Bucket Brewery as it was closing. For owner, Robert DaRosa this was the culmination of a decade worth of hard work, which all started with a “wine kit” birthday present given him by his sister. DaRosa quickly decided that he would rather get into beer styles.
DaRosa served as head brewer at Union Station Brewery in downtown Providence for four years and then took a job with Ragged Island Brewing Company in Portsmouth, where he most recently worked.
Born in Providence and now residing in in the Rumford section of East Providence, the 39-year-old DaRosa said he chose the name Smug Brewing Company because the word “smug” was on a list of power words. We knew it was short, edgy, and projects confidence. We brew with confidence and we want people to be confident in what they choose to drink. We good with them being a little smug.
DaRosa says they will brew IPAs —some with unique flavors such as grapefruit or milk sugar —sour beers, and seasonal options such as pumpkin-spiced, and maple Russian imperials stout.
The brewery experience will include food trucks, trivia nights, and indoor pub along with live music.
